Do you want to make a difference?
Sponsoring a child with Amazing Children Uganda is different. You have the unique opportunity to personally, or as a family, make a difference to a child’s life by supporting them through education.
Our sponsors tell us that the direct impact and engagement they have with a child is hugely rewarding. To know that you have been responsible for helping a child to escape life on the streets, and given them a life-changing opportunity for a brighter future. That is a rare experience.
The children we identify for sponsorship all have different stories: some have been orphaned by war or HIV; some are escaping abuse; and some are just abandoned to fend for themselves. What is the same for all of them is that they have had interrupted childhoods and that has left them fending for themselves on the street.
Sponsorship is a major intervention in any child’s life, but particularly a street child. We believe that our sponsorship approach offers the most sustainable way to ensure that a child benefits from continuity, as they do not have to worry from year to year about whether there will be funding to support their education.
You will have complete transparency about where your donation is going.
And the child also benefits from the relationship with the sponsor. We facilitate safe and appropriate contact between you and the sponsored child. This helps to build trust and motivates the child to make the most of the opportunity you have given them.
You can make a difference
Philanthropy is about making a difference, and sometimes problems can seem so vast that you feel a donation will just be a drop in the ocean.
Amazing Children Uganda sponsorships are different. You will know who the child is and we will facilitate exchanges of letters or emails a few times each year. You will see the direct impact of your donation as it radically changes a child’s life for the better.
There is no doubt that being a sponsor is a commitment, and we would prefer you to make that commitment carefully for the child’s sake so ensuring that they have continuity.
What our sponsors say...
"For me the involvement in a small charity such as ACU is a privilege and very rewarding. The children I sponsor are a delight and it all feels very hands on. I also feel that my money is safe and used wisely with the welfare of the children being the prime motivator."
"Sponsoring P means that I am making a significant difference to her life. Meeting her in Kampala brought home to me how her opportunities in life will be transformed beyond recognition - from street child to being an independent woman in the world."
